Branding Campaign: The Center for Entrepreneurship at University of Nebraska
Concept & Design by Emma Dickinson
As a graduate assistant for the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Nebraska, while working towards my MBA degree, my responsibilities included repositioning the Center and creating new brand imagery to represent the entrepreneuring program and events. I designed this logo, along with a number of variations, developed the mission statement below, and helped to initiate the “Building Startup People” slogan for the center to use for years to come.
About the Center for Entrepreneurship
“Building Startup People.” The Center for Entrepreneurship is University of Nebraska’s hub of entrepreneurship and innovation. Our mission is to inspire and empower UNL students to become “Startup People”, “educating them to be active in creating their own future.” We help create an environment fosters entrepreneurial spirit, “nurturing students’ ability to cultivate growth”, either as part of their own new business or within an established firm. Our program incorporates coursework and extracurricular activities that “mentor and influence creative minds. “ A variety of courses that enable students to explore the subject of entrepreneurship, the majority of which are taught by individuals who have either started a business or have been associated with business ownership. The center is also working to build expertise in the study of fast-growth firms.
Learning happens through teaching, research and outreach in new business development, family and small business management, entrepreneurial leadership and growth processes as well as intrapreneurship (entrepreneurship in larger organizations) and innovation.
